AIRSHADE™ IS NOT AN ACCESSORY. IT'S A PHYSICS SOLUTION FOR PERFORMANCE.

It wasn't designed by asking what a visor should look like. It was designed from first principles: how do you shade the face without sealing the forehead? A traditional visor covers that zone and blocks airflow. AirShade™ uses open blades, so light is cut and air still moves.

The chrome isn't for looks. The reflective finish is what lets the blades stay thin and light while still reflecting most of the sun that hits them. Without it, you'd need more material for the same shade, and a heavier product.

AIRSHADE™ FAQs

Will it fit my sunglasses?

AirShade fits most sports sunglasses using the Fit Bands. Some fashion frames with very thin arms may not provide a secure fit.

The stabilizer is a small clip that attaches to the front of your sunglasses at the nose bridge, helping keep AirShade steady. Four sizes are included to accommodate different frame designs, including glasses with no frame in that area.

Do I need OMIUS® cooling pieces?

No. AirShade™ works on its own: your forehead stays open, so skin still cools through airflow and sweat. With OMIUS®, the same open zone is amplified, because the sun is no longer heating the cooling pieces. Thermal modeling puts the gain at roughly 30–50% in direct sun.

Why choose AirShade over an Omius visor or cap?

AirShade offers three advantages when paired with an Omius Headband or Reverse Hat:

  • More room for a comfortable fit. On shorter foreheads, an Omius visor or cap may need to sit very low for the cooling pieces to contact your skin properly, potentially interfering with sunglasses or your view. AirShade's Lower Shield attaches to your sunglasses, leaving room above for your headband or reverse hat and its cooling pieces.
  • More airflow. The open fin design allows air to move vertically through the shield, supporting evaporation and helping the cooling pieces do their job.
  • Extra shade for better cooling. Adding the Top Shield protects the cooling pieces from direct sunlight, reducing the solar heat they absorb and helping them cool more effectively in sunny conditions.
Does it replace a cap, a visor, or sunscreen?

It gives you the shade of a traditional visor with more airflow. It doesn't replace sunscreen: keep applying it from the eyebrows down, since some sun angles still reach skin the shields don't cover. For the top of the head and the back of the neck, pair it with the OMIUS® Reverse Cap.

Can I use only one shield?

Yes: Full Shield, Upper only, or Lower only. One shield is lighter and more open; two shields cover more skin in strong or low-angle sun. Swapping takes under five minutes with the included screwdriver.

Does AirShade require any special care?

Yes. Always store AirShade in its protective case when not in use. Make sure the fins rest in their natural position and are not bent or compressed before closing the case. Storing AirShade with the fins bent can permanently deform them.

What about rain, sweat, or swimming?

Sweat and rain are fine. Don't swim with it, and keep it out of the pool and the ocean.

Which OMIUS® products does it work with?

The Headband, the Reverse Cap, or nothing at all. Not the OMIUS® visor or forward-facing caps: those sit the graphite where the upper shield would hit it.

At Omius, we stand behind our cooling technology. That's why we offer you 30 days to try your headgear. If it doesn't meet your expectations, we'll give you your money back, it's our 30-day money-back guarantee.

  1. The 30-day trial applies only to direct purchases made on omius.com.
  2. The 30-day trial is limited to one use per customer. Omius reserves the right to decline returns from customers who have previously used this policy.

  4. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Omius does not reimburse original or return shipping fees.
  5. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of receiving and inspecting the product.
  6. Omius is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping. We recommend using a reliable carrier with tracking and shipping insurance.

RETURNS

Need to exchange your Omius product for a different item? We're here to help.

You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request an exchange. The product must be unused and in its original packaging.

warranty

Your AirShade includes a warranty against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase.

If a defect occurs during the warranty period, Omius will, at its option: (a) repair or replace the product with one of the same or current design, or (b) issue a refund.
